- [Alternate Operations during Campus Closure](https://catalog.texarkanacollege.edu/rules-and-regulations/alternate-operations-during-campus-closure/): In the event of an emergency or announced campus closure due to a natural disaster or pandemic, Texarkana College may need to move to altered operations and course delivery methods. During this time, Texarkana College may opt to continue delivery of instruction through methods that include, but are not limited to: online learning management system (Jenzabar or other learning management system), online conferencing through TEAMS, email messaging, and/or an alternate schedule. It is the responsibility of the student to monitor Texarkana College's website (www.texarkanacollege.edu) for instructions about continuing courses remotely, instructor email notifications on the method of delivery and course-specific communication, and Texarkana College email notifications for important general information.

- [Work-Study Employment](https://catalog.texarkanacollege.edu/enrollment-services/work-study-employment/): The Federal Work-Study program provides part-time employment for students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. To qualify, students must complete a current-year FAFSA application, have demonstrated unmet financial need (as determined by the FAFSA), and maintain an acceptable FA-SAP status. In addition to on-campus jobs, the Federal Work-Study program offers jobs in community service activities, as math or reading tutors at elementary schools in the area, or at the Literacy Council. After completing their FAFSA, interested students should visit or contact the TC Financial Aid Office for a job application form.

The computer must be an actual computer – smart phones, iPads, Androids, Chromebooks, etc., are not acceptable substitutes because they lack software compatibility necessary to complete all assignments and tests. Financial costs for the necessary equipment and internet access are the responsibility of the student.

Telford Unit and One (1) Year Certificate Program in Welding and One (1) Year Certificate Program in Electrical Technology at the Federal Correctional Institution - Texarkana. Incarcerated students work with Prison Education Program (PEP) Advisors to pursue their degree objectives. Assurance of transferability of credits to at least one other institution is guaranteed. Fees vary, as do the actual costs of conducting each course; however, fees are structured to be affordable to anyone who is genuinely interested in continuing their education. Select programs qualify for funding sources, grants, or scholarship funds. Schedules are printed in the spring, summer, and fall, and copies are available in the Community Education Center located on the 1st floor of the Administration Building. Information can also be accessed by going to the TC Website and clicking the Community Education tab. You may choose from a variety of options. Offerings vary from semester to semester depending on current demands and trends.

- [Adult Education and Literacy](https://catalog.texarkanacollege.edu/uncategorized/adult-education-and-literacy/): The Adult Education and Literacy Program at Texarkana College offers several classes and training opportunities for students. To begin each course, students are required to complete enrollment paperwork, take an assessment, and attend Academic Enrichments sessions prior to beginning academic classes. Enrollment paperwork is available online at the Adult Education web page https://www.texarkanacollege.edu/adult-education/. Students who need to complete the form in person may do so at the office. Students may complete the paperwork at any time. Assessments are given based on a schedule for each program. Academic Enrichment sessions are held every eight weeks, and students must complete the enrollment paperwork and assessment prior to attending. Classes are free and operate under managed and open enrollment, depending on the class location. Managed enrollment classes begin every eight weeks. Open enrollment classes allow students to begin class once they have completed the enrollment process. The class format includes in-person teacher-led instruction, group work, individual work, and online work. Courses are offered year-round.

First located at 16th and Pine Streets, the campus was composed of classrooms, laboratories, offices, and a gymnasium. The laboratories and gymnasium were jointly used by the college and the high school. Following legislation by the State of Texas in 1941, the Texarkana College District was established by an election of the taxpayers of the public school district and a tax rate of 20 cents per 100 dollars of assessed valuation was passed at the same time.
