A variety of scholarships are available at Texarkana College. Scholarships include those awarded and administered by the Texarkana College scholarship committees as well as those awarded by community and civic organizations. In addition, Texarkana College awards institutional scholarships for various programs of study and for academic merit. The criteria for receiving scholarships vary according to standards set by donors and by the scholarship committees. Most scholarships are awarded based on a combination of academic merit and financial need. Scholarships are awarded both to freshmen and to sophomores. Please contact the Texarkana College Scholarship Coordinator for more information about the scholarship program and application process. You must complete an admissions application before applying for Texarkana College scholarships. Endowed Scholarships
The following Institutional Scholarships are awarded and administered by Texarkana College:
Texarkana College Promise Scholarship: A last dollar scholarship, covering the cost of tuition only, for up to an associate’s degree or 60 credit hours. This scholarship is awarded to recent high school graduates who live in the Texarkana College service area and have completed 15+ dual credit hours leading to a degree with Texarkana College. Students who have earned fewer than 15 dual credit hours may still qualify if they have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale on 6th semester transcript. The scholarship also supports high school students earlier in their journey by covering eligible dual credit costs not funded through existing state programs. For more information about the TC Promise Scholarship, go to https://www.texarkanacollege.edu/promise/Eldridge Scholarship: The Jake and Bessie Eldridge Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students planning to attend a public, four-year Texas college or university after completing a minimum of 60 semester credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Legacy Scholarships
The following are legacy scholarships no longer offered to new students, but still administered for students awarded them in previous academic years:
Presidential Scholarship: A full scholarship for up to an Associate’s Degree or 60 semester hours. This scholarship is awarded to recent high school graduates who live in the Texarkana College service area and meet the scholarship’s academic eligibility requirements.
DC to TC Pathways: This scholarship is awarded to recent high school graduates who received dual credit or early enrollment from Texarkana College. Must have a completion of 15+ hours leading to a degree from Texarkana College by high school graduation.
State of Texas Scholarships
The following scholarships are established by the state of Texas and administered by Texarkana College. These scholarships also have special eligibility criteria specific to state funding and a hardship policy students may use to appeal the loss of eligibility. Please see “State Funding Eligibility Criteria” and “State Fund Hardship Policy” sections later in “Grants” section of the catalog.
Nursing Students Scholarship Program: The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board funds the Nursing Students Scholarship Program. Eligible students must have financial need and be enrolled at least half-time in a nursing program. Must be a Texas resident and maintain satisfactory academic progress. Contact the Financial Aid Office for additional eligibility requirements.

Texas First Scholarship Program: This scholarship is awarded to Texas residents who have recently graduated a semester or two semesters early from high school with a Texas First High School Diploma. Eligible students must demonstrate college readiness and mastery of various academic subjects. Students should contact their high school counselor to learn more about this program and to verify their eligibility.
